If you are telephoning on behalf of the patient please ensure you have consent from the patient if they are over the age of 13. The patient must also be present with you when you phone as the Doctor will have clinical questions they require answers to before making a diagnoses and offering treatment

Home Visits

Home visits are only for patients with serious illnesses who are unable to travel to the surgery or who are housebound. If you need a home visit and are unable to attend the practice, please telephone the surgery. We will take your name, address and contact number and the details of the reason you require a home visit. The doctor will contact you to assess your needs before visiting you at home. Routine home visits are made after morning surgery. 

Chaperones

We respect your privacy, dignity and your cultural and religious beliefs. If you would like a chaperone during your consultation, please ask at reception.

Interpreter Services

If English isn’t your first language, don’t worry we can help you.  We can arrange an interpreter. If you need an interpreter we need 3 days notice and we will book for someone to attend your consultation.

Mobile Phones

We request that patients refrain from using mobile phones whilst on our premises and switch them off during consultations.

 

Hospital Referrals and Transport

If you have been referred by our staff for onward care or treatment you will need to make your own arrangements with the hospital for your appointments.

Should you need help with hospital transport you will need to speak to the hospital directly who will help you.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
